Laser Reproductions Boasts 17 SLA Systems

With the addition of its seventeenth Stereolithography (SLA) Machine, Laser Reproductions is proud to be one of the largest SLA service bureaus in the United States.

SLA is the most popular rapid prototyping technology. It is an “additive” versus traditional “subtractive” machining process. The technology enables designers, engineers and mold makers to hold and evaluate 3-D models of the end product, prior to investing in production tooling – avoiding costly and time-consuming design alterations during the production process.

In order to better serve our customers, Laser Reproductions offers a variety of SLA machines, manufactured by 3D Systems Corporation, for rapid prototyping projects:

SLA 5000: This machine can tackle a full range of solid imaging applications in a small amount of time. This machine’s solid-state laser technology delivers up to 35 percent more power than other machines its size.

SLA 7000: This is a powerful and quick SLA machine. It is three times faster than the SLA 5000. The system also allows Laser Reproductions to produce parts as large as 20 x 20 x 23 inches in the systems’ build envelope. And its highly-reliable design includes fewer parts – a low vibration optical system and revolutionary dual-spot laser technology – reducing downtime and errors.

Viper™ Pro: This is the fastest and largest SLA machine in the world. It builds
parts in high resolution on a 25 x 30-inch platform, but is capable of building larger parts in sections and bonding them together. This is true of the SLA 5000 and SLA 7000 as well. When it comes to high resolution on a larger scale, this machine takes SLA to a new level, offering speed, accuracy, surface finish and a maximum part size normally associated with CNC machining.

Viper™ si2: This machine is the highest resolution solid imaging machine system ever built. It offers a unique dual-spot laser with a normal beam diameter of 0.010” and a high-resolution diameter of 0.003”. Because of that, this machine is ideal for small, precision builds with extremely detailed parts, which is especially important in time critical stereolithography situations.

These SLA machines make limited production runs possible, which saves our customers time and money. We can also test more options and explore new possibilities as these machines can create multiple design iterations in a fraction of the time.
