Laser Reproductions to Offer Exclusive Line of Stereolithography Resins
COLUMBUS, Ohio—A national provider of rapid prototyping, manufacturing and product development services, Laser Reproductions, is pleased to announce an agreement with DSM Somos® that designates the company as an exclusive provider of the complete line of DSM Somos®’ ProtoFunctional® stereolithography resins.
As a result of the agreement, Laser Reproductions will have the largest offering of these materials in one place among rapid prototyping service bureaus in the United States. The company now has the ability to offer the complete DSM Somos® product line from a single source, including three new materials.
"As the performance of DSM Somos®’ materials expands the types of applications in which stereolithography parts can be used, customers are seeing savings of both time and money in the product development process," says Laser Reproductions President Paul Bordner. "This agreement makes complete sense to our company’s commitment to using today's leading processes and expertise in design engineering."
DSM Somos®' full line of ProtoFunctional® rapid prototyping materials replicate the performance parameters of production materials such as polypropylene and ABS. DSM Somos® developed the line stereolithography resins to save time and money in the new product development process. The resins enhance production time, lower shrink rates and allow for higher heat deflection temperatures. They also range from transparent, tough and durable to flexible, heat-resistant and humidity-tolerant.
With 14 in-house stereolithography machines, Laser Reproductions ranks in the top two percent in capacity among all rapid prototyping service bureaus in the country.
