Laser Reproductions is proud to announce its newest stereolithography (SLA) resin, RenShape® SL 7820...
Rapid prototyping, manufacturing and product development company, Laser Reproductions, was recently contracted by Pro-Tec Equipment to create models of its equipment at 1/12 the actual size to showcase at the upcoming AgriCon conference in Las Vegas.
Pro-Tec Inc., a leading manufacturer and distributor of shielding and shoring equipment used for underground water, gas and electrical line repairs, challenged Laser Reproductions to produce durable, functioning models that would withstand constant handling from conference attendees. The models were to represent the actual equipment as closely as possible. Laser Reproductions utilized its Metal Clad Composites (MC2) process, a process that combines DSM Somos® NanoTool™ resin with electromagnetic characteristics of nickel-plating to provide durable parts that perform like metal, without costly and time-consuming die cast and metal machining.
The result was highly-stiffened and intricate models that worked together like the actual equipment in the field—all created through a process that met the client’s budget. Not only were the models a hit at the conference, but Pro-Tec plans to use them in classroom discussions for many years to come.
